The California Community College, Teacher Preparation Programs (TPP) in collaboration with the CSU Department of Educator Preparation and Public School Programs recently completed a CCC-CSU teacher preparation framework document.
A recent memo from Dr. Jeffrey A. Mrizek, Dean of Effective Practices, Division of Workforce and Economic Development from the California Community Colleges, Chancellor’s Office brought attention to the framework and the role of CCC TPPs to provide support and development of model quality teacher preparation programs at the community college level. California community college teacher preparation programs support and align with teacher preparation/credential programs throughout California college systems, primarily the CSUs.
The framework is a result of several meetings with CSU, teacher preparation directors, a CCC technical assistance provider and Chancellor’s Office staff. The document will be distributed widely within the CSU and community college system to support regional cross-system TPP communities of practice to expand and diversify the teacher workforce in California.
